Every volunteer and staff person who works with young people at Trinity has been trained through the "Safeguarding God's Children" curriculum and has received a background check. The safety and well being of our children is of primary importance.
Children's Sunday School
Pre-school and elementary grade children (3 year olds-5th grade) learn about God and God's relationship with humanity through age appropriate lessons. The children experience the stories of Scripture by participating in a lesson taught through a story, craft and prayer each Sunday. Class begins at 9:15 AM each Sunday morning.
During our 10:30 AM worship service, children ages 3 years-5th grade are invited to participate in a Children's Church service. Children's Church participants are invited to meet at the back of the Nave prior to 10:30 AM. They process to the front pew as a group to the Tower Room to attend the Children's Church service. The service is led by rotating teams of parents. Their service includes a processional, a call to worship, readings, a Godly play lesson, prayers of the people and a retiring processional, presented primarily by their fellow classmates. At the conclusion of their worship, children return to the Nave as the congregation sings “Jesus Loves Me,” joining their families in time to share Holy Communion.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School at Trinity is a four day, 9 AM – 12 PM camp filled with rotating stations, crafts, outdoor games, and Bible story with group worship. All activities center around a theme, and love for God and biblical truths are taught in creative and fun ways. The camp is open to three year olds through fifth grade. Snacks and drinks are provided each day. The camp is provided free of charge as a ministry of Trinity Episcopal Church and each participant receives a t-shirt. Trinity youth are encouraged to volunteer as junior group leaders.
